do you offer trial lessons?
yes, we offer paid trial lessons so you can experience our services before making any commitment. we also offer a free 15-minute consultation to see if we'd be a good fit.
how do you assess a student's needs?
we ask students to complete a 'self-evaluation' and begin with setting and reviewing an initial assessment to understand the student's academic strengths and areas for improvement. this helps us create a personalised learning plan to help a student reach their specific needs and goals.
what are your tuition rates?
our rates vary depending on the subject, level and type of tuition (individual or group). please visit the relevant subject page for detailed information or contact us directly to ask any questions.
what age groups can benefit from your integrated tuition and wellbeing services?
our services are designed for students of all ages, from primary to university students. we tailor our approach to meet the developmental and academic needs of each age group accordingly.
how are wellbeing sessions structured with academic tutoring?
well-being sessions are integrated into the schedule based on each student’s needs. For example, a student may have a tutoring session followed by a mindfulness exercise, or we might start with a brief well-being check-in before getting started with academic work.
can I receive wellbeing support without academic tutoring?
yes, students can choose to receive only wellbeing support if they prefer. our services are flexible and can be adapted to fit the unique needs of each student.
do you offer group tutoring sessions?
yes, we offer both Individual and group tutoring sessions. group sessions can be beneficial for collaborative learning and are more affordable than 1-to-1 tuition. we keep our groups capped to a limited number of students to ensure all students receive adequate attention.
can you help with an assignment or exam?
we can offer support to help you understand what's expected of you, and help you grasp underlying concepts. we cannot however help complete any assignments.
how can you help students cope with high levels of stress or anxiety relating to their studies?
for students experiencing high levels of stress, or anxiety, we offer targeted stress management techniques, and personalised coping strategies to help them find a balance. we are qualified in mental health 'first aid' to help students with first-level support and intervention. please note however we are not mental health professionals and don't offer counselling services, but can help encourage students to access sources of professional help and other forms of support where needed.
what materials do I need to bring to sessions?
this depends on the subject, or type of session. However, a notebook or piece of paper to take down any notes will also be handy. bring any relevant assignments or study materials to the sessions. for online sessions, you should have a stable internet connection, a computer, laptop or tablet and a quiet, comfortable space.
what is your cancellation policy?
we require 48-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling of sessions, other than for illness or emergencies. cancellations made within this time may be subject to a cancellation fee. please refer to our terms outlined below for more information.

BOOKINGS + PAYMENT
fees are payable via bank transfer, monthly in advance.
by booking a regular, guaranteed term time session you agree to pay and attend all available sessions at your chosen time.
ad hoc lessons must be paid 24 hours in advance to confirm.
CANCELLATIONS
cancelled lessons within 48 hours will be charged 50% of the lesson fee.
cancelled lessons within 24 hours will be charged in full.
if more than 48 hours' notice is given, students will be able to reschedule (subject to availability).
the tutor will always be available for the full duration of the agreed slot. if the student arrives late we cannot guarantee to make the time up afterwards as lessons are typically booked back-to-back. we will send a text/email reminder after 5 minutes, if there is no communication after 15 minutes we will log off but be on standby, so let us know if you're able to join and we will rejoin the call.
if the tutor cancels, the lesson will either be rescheduled for a mutually convenient time or refunded.
the tutor reserves the right to terminate tuition in the event of frequent cancellations, late payment or the student is not fully committed.
LESSONS, PREPARATION + MARKING
the fee includes preparation time, lesson time and setting homework (if requested)
homework will be discussed and marked during the lesson. for exam questions, this will include looking at the mark scheme and how the marks are awarded
homework should preferably be submitted the day before the lesson
marking (with detailed feedback) outside of lesson time will be charged at our hourly rate.

what type of personal information do we collect?

do we share your data?
personal information will not be shared without your consent.
in some cases students/parents may require me to contact the school to share information about progress, this will only be with consent.
there may be circumstances where we are legally required to share the information for example safeguarding concerns.
how is your [personal information stored?
on password-protected devices or a password-protected portal.
how long do we retain data for?
personal information is stored for one year after the end of tuition.
all information related to invoices is kept for seven years for tax purposes. This will then be deleted.
can my data be deleted?
yes, you have a right to ask for all information held relating to you to be deleted. please request via email. however, please note that once information is deleted tuition Is unable to continue.
