NATURE OF LAW + THE ENGLISH LEGAL SYSTEM
• different sources of law and the role the law plays in society
• developing laws, the role of Parliament and the European Union In designing legislation and passing reforms
• Legal system: civil courts, criminal courts, the judiciary and other forms of dispute resolution
CRIMINAL LAW
• rules and theory of criminal law, liability
• offences such as robbery, assault, manslaughter and their relevant defences
TORT LAW
• rules and theory of civil wrong, breach of duty, negligence
• liability for Injury or economic loss
HUMAN RIGHTS
• exploration of human rights on a national and International scale (UN and EU)
• major conventions on human rights, and the consideration of their restrictions and enforcement
